Welcome to the Mohonk Mountain House Mindfulness Blog!

Mindfulness is often viewed as something you have to do “outside” of real life – find a perfect setting, be surrounded by silence, and spend a certain amount of time committed to a daily practice.

If you can do that – wonderful! And it will make a difference. But, in reality, there are many of us who are not able to approach meditation this way. We’re on-the-run, in the middle of hectic days, and dealing with real-life events and situations – these are exactly the moments when we most need the benefits of mindfulness! But because we’ve made meditation into a “Not Me” activity, we don’t have the tools we need to support us.

Yet, think of it this way.

Mindfulness is simply being present in the moment – right here, right now – in a gentle, non-judgmental way.

Sometimes understanding how it works and getting started can be the hardest part. And that’s where you need support. This blog will bring mindfulness to you in the moments where you live – messy and challenging and joyful and scary and loving and anxious and energetic and so much more!
